SG100 Foundation Inaugural Dinner “Lest We Forget” – Mar 2016

Just last week, the entire nation commemorated the legacy of our beloved late founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. To pay tribute to him and his contributions, the theme of our Inaugural Dinner was “Lest We Forget”.

On 22 March 2016, the SG100 Foundation was officially launched at Tim Palace, at Safra Toa Payoh. The dinner was organised  by the foundation’s interim senior and youth committee.

Over 600 guests from established organizations, associations, and tertiary institutes were present to learn more about the foundation and the ways they can contribute to nation-building.

Our guests were treated with performances imbued with a strong flavour of Singapore. They rekindled fond memories of our growing up years. The audience watched a live performance by a sand artist who produced an art piece incorporating models of  Singapore’s famous landmarks. Lucas Fam, a piano prodigy, played National Day songs such as “Home”. Lastly, local artist Mei Sin performed a medley of nostalgic songs.

It was heart-warming for us to see many guests, local and from overseas, supporting the foundation’s purpose. Mr Vernon Yim, co-founder of the SG100 Foundation, said, “We are really pleased that the movement has garnered widespread support within such a short span of time and we are confident that this spirit will be the exact key to a successful SG100 for Singapore.”

After the launch, we look forward to an exciting year of projects geared towards nation-building!
